KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 3): Heng Guan Development (HGD) has commenced the handover of Aera Gardens, the first phase of Aera Township development in northern Sungai Petani, Kedah.
Aera Township is a 150-acre master plan that consists of landed residential and commercial shoplots. Officially launched in August 2023, the development has a gross development value of RM828 million, according to a statement on Thursday.
Aera Gardens is the first phase of the master plan, comprising 129 single-storey terraced houses with typical unit built-up of 1,540 sq ft and launch price of RM238,000. The fully-sold phase was completed and handed over to buyers on Sept 1.
As part of the handover ceremony, each homeowner received a bicycle, referencing the group’s founding as an Alor Setar bicycle business by Lim Heng Guan in the 1920s.
“Our journey began with bicycles almost a century ago, and today we are giving bicycles to families beginning a new chapter at Aera Township. We want it to be a township where residents can cycle to pick up groceries, enjoy a meal at the nearby commercial precinct, visit neighbours or spend time outdoors with their families making active and sustainable living part of everyday life,” said HGD chief executive officer Lim Tiong Haan in the statement.
The upcoming Phases 2 and 3 will feature another 1,000 landed residential, while the entire master plan is slated for completion by 2032.
